About

About the labs: Founded in 2003, the littlebluefrog labs are a small band of merry and somewhat manic developers. We are not a commercial entity of any kind, but rather, a shared name used to identify our group, and under which we can develop and release our various software projects.

About this wiki: As with all volunteer efforts, finding time between work commitments and life in general can be difficult. It is widely recognised that these factors attribute directly to the generally poor level of documentation associated with many open source efforts. This wiki is an attempt to streamline the documentation process and provide an easily editable and updateable resource that collects together documentation and information on all the various labs projects. With time and effort, this resource will grow to become hopefully a one-stop-shop for any and all types of information about labs projects.

The first Portico v1.0 release candidate is now available for download!

The updated release contains implementations of the Ownership Management and Save/Restore services. This completes implementation of all the major service groups from the HLA 1.3 specification. We strongly encourage anyone interested to go and download the release candidate and give it a test. We have a comprehensive test suite that is used before anything is released, but wider testing is always necessary to work out the kinks and make sure that the official releases are as robust and well tested as possible.

As always, if you spot any bugs, please report them to either the support forums or the issue database (links below) so we can get them fixed quickly.

Current Projects

Portico (previously jaRTI)

Portico is a fully supported, open source, cross-platform HLA RTI implementation. Designed with modularity and flexibility in mind, Portico is intended to provide a production grade RTI implementation and an environment that can support continued research and development.

JazzVR

JazzVR is a fairly lightweight VR framework for creating simple visualisations and simulations, emphasising simplicity over raw speed. It should be useful to people looking to create simple 3D visualisation/VR apps relatively quickly & easily.

Commons

The commons project is a collection of various utility classes and frameworks used in virtually every littlebluefrog labs project.
